Thread-rolling screws form a nut thread in cast blind holes, rim holes and drilled, lasered and punched sheet metal parts. Unlike thread cutting, thread rolling does not interrupt the material structure in the counter thread. Instead, the material is displaced and strain-hardened.
Eliminates thread cutting
Cost savings
Chip-free thread formation
TRILOBULAR shape of the screw combined with the radius profile of the thread flanks
- Low rolling torques with large thread flank overlap
High clamping force
Large thread flank overlap
High load capacity
Strain-hardened counter thread (nut thread)
Greater load capacity
Play-free and self-locking thread seating
- Reduced likelihood of screw working loose
- Protection against loss
The formed thread corresponds to a standard metric thread
The values for the hole diameters are guideline values, which should be verified by testing the original parts. Further information can be found in the DIN 7500-2 standard.
