Thread-rolling screw with large countersunk head for securing floor panels to steel substructures
Self-tapping screws form a nut thread in cast blind holes, rim holes and drilled, lasered and punched sheet metal parts. Unlike thread cutting, self-tapping does not interrupt the material structure in the receiving thread. Instead, the material is displaced and strain-hardened.
The grooving tip is not suitable for mounting. Grooving tip length is 5XP (P = thread pitch, at diameter M8 P = 1.25 mm).
Floor plate mounting for trailers, loading areas, storage areas, etc.
- Pre-drill floor panel (wood/multi-layer board or similar) at least dia. 9 mm
- Countersink the holes in the floor panel according to the large countersunk head of the screw or set countersinking depth
- Pre-drill the steel substructure for the M8 thread groove
- Select the drill diameter according to the material strength and thickness (recommended dia. 7.2 mm)
Preliminary testing is recommended.
