JOIST HANGERS, IDEAL FOR JOINING FRAMES AND STRUCTURES
Joist hangers, or joist connections, are more and more commonly used in the creation of roofs and wooden frames. Qualitative and very solid, the connectors created by Würth are available in multiple formats and dimensions, adapted to the different angles of your assemblies.
ITS ROLE: FIXING JOISTS, BEAMS AND RAFTERS
Do you have a roof to build or renovate? The joist hanger is an excellent way to finalize or perfect your wooden construction. These joining elements make it possible to:
• fix joists, purlins or smooth beams
• maintain rafters or cladding uprights
• reinforce existing assemblies, etc.
JOIST HANGERS WITH EXTERNAL OR INTERNAL WINGS, LONG OR SHORT LEGS
Würth has developed its own range of fixing accessories for frames, to equip professionals with resistant and reliable products. Our parts are made of galvanized steel and recognized by European Technical Approvals. We also make sure to cover, as much as possible, the different angles and configurations of your assemblies. We therefore offer:
• joist hangers with external wings. Commonly used and easy to install
• joist hangers with inner wings. More discreet, allowing special connections such as corner joints
• double- or half-wing hangers, distinguished by their great flexibility of use
FITTINGS, BOLTS, LOAD TABLE: THE CONDITIONS TO BE RESPECTED
When building a frame or wooden structure, respect rules to ensure your safety. Let us recall here some of the essential conditions to achieve reliable and lasting work. In particular, you need to:
• choose a hanger that allows wood-to-wood, wood-to-concrete, or wood-to-steel connections, depending on the supporting and supported materials
• ensure that the diameter of the bolts (or screws ) is not more than 2 mm less than the diameter of the hole
• check that the height of the joist hanger is at least equal to 2/3 of the height of the element carried
• refer to a load table, to ensure that the load will be lower than the capacity of the joist hanger
