THE DIGITAL MULTIMETER ALLOWS YOU TO MEASURE VOLTAGE, CURRENT, RESISTANCE

The digital multimeter is a key part of any electrician's equipment. Depending on the model, this tool can be used to measure voltage, current, temperature, inductance and many other things. Overview of the physical quantities that you can check thanks to the high performance universal controllers developed by Würth!

A VOLTMETER, AMMETER AND OHMMETER ESSENTIAL FOR CONSTRUCTION AND INDUSTRY

An essential device when it comes to measuring electrical quantities, the digital multimeter plays the role of a voltmeter, an ammeter and an ohmmeter. It makes it possible to be certain of working in the absence of voltage as well as to identify anomalies present on an electrical circuit. It is used both in construction and in the industrial sector to:

• carry out electrical installations
• manufacture electrical cabinets
• maintain and repair general electrical / electronic systems, etc.

CURRENT MEASUREMENT, DIODE TEST, ACOUSTIC AND ELECTRICAL CONTINUITY TEST

Robust and secure, the digital multimeters designed by Würth are particularly versatile: practical mini-multimeters, water-resistant multimeters, TRMS multimeters with integrated LED flashlight, etc… Our different models are used to accurately and easily measure:

• an alternating or direct voltage, expressed in volts (V)
• an intensity, expressed in amperes (A)
• a resistance, expressed in ohms (Ω)…
• the ambient temperature, expressed in degrees Celsius (° C)
• the capacitance of a capacitor, expressed in farad (F)
• the inductance of a coil, expressed in henrys (H)
• the frequency of an electrical signal, expressed in hertz (Hz)
• most are also capable of testing a diode, sound continuity, electrical continuity with detection of cable breaks, etc.

ROTARY SWITCH, TEST LEADS AND DIGITAL MULTIMETER TERMINALS

Remember that a digital multimeter comes in the form of a box with a digital screen (which makes it easier to read than an analog multimeter featuring a needle and a dial), a rotary switch that allows you to select the electrical quantity you wish to evaluate, a black test lead, a red test lead and a series of specific terminals:

• the "COM" or "-" terminal, through which the black wire connects to the system
• the "V" or "+" terminal to which we connect the red wire when we want to measure a voltage
• terminal "A", to which we connect the red wire when we want to measure in Amps
• the "Ω" terminal to which we connect the red wire when we want to measure a resistance.

Warning: always grab your test leads via the insulated part, never disconnect one of the test leads and make sure you keep a good distance from the power source you want to measure!
