SAFETY HELMETS: WÜRTH ENSURES THE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF PROFESSIONALS

To mitigate occupational risks at workplaces, current regulations require certain professionals to wear personal protective equipment. Among them we find in particular head protection equipment, that is to say caps and safety helmets. Wearing helmets helps protect against impacts and punctures due to falling objects, but also from exposure to metal shards or corrosive liquids and from contact with live electrical conductors. There are therefore several types of safety helmets with different levels of protection, from a simple hard hat to an insulated helmet.

To protect professionals while performing their activities, Würth has designed dedicated safety helmets to meet standard requirements. Our head protection equipment is also designed to offer maximum comfort to professionals through its features (textile cover, side ventilation, adjustable headband, etc.).

PROTECTIVE HELMETS THAT MEET EN 397 AND EN 812 STANDARDS

Since 2000, the wearing of a protective helmet has been made compulsory on all sites, including construction, structural work, mining, demolition work and work carried out near machines or cranes. Würth construction helmets meet the EN 397 standard (shock absorption, resistance to penetration and flame, chinstrap anchor points). The high density polyethylene design offers both safety and comfort thanks to a minimal weight of 350g. Protek construction helmets are fitted with integrated adjustable goggles for eye protection (EN 166).

Bump caps and helmets designed by Würth meet the requirements of EN 812. They are not designed to protect the wearer from falling objects and throws. They are intended to protect the wearer's head in the event of impact with hard and immobile objects which may cause cuts or superficial injuries. They are mainly intended for indoor use in industry (agri-food, automotive, pharmaceutical, etc.) and by craftsmen and installers.

If the lifespan of a protective helmet is 4 years, it is important to regularly check its condition. The lifespan of a helmet depends in particular on the conditions of storage and use. Note that any helmet that has received an impact must be replaced.
